Ruth & Ollie

Every home has at least four walls and a roof, but the things inside – the colors, textures, chairs, tables, photos, lighting, scents - tell people who and what you are.  Our goal when we created Ruth & Ollie was the same.  We wanted to create a store that is an extension of us and our home… from the types of furnishings we love to the art on the walls. 

We want every visitor to feel welcome and at ease.  We want you to come in, sit down, relax, and enjoy what we have.  We have a passion for finding things that are fresh and are a new look to Richmond and we hope you’ll love our “second home” as much as we do!

So…what do we have at Ruth & Ollie? Sophisticated upholstered and leather furniture with clean lines, lamps, custom headboards, dining room tables, and chandeliers that are different, cool and in some cases custom made, pillows from around the world that will add POP to a room, original art work from Richmond area artists and sincere customer service from us…the owners.

For those of you that are new to Ruth & Ollie….Ruth was Mike’s grandmother and Ollie was Kat’s great Grandmother.  We thought the name was perfect for what we are trying to do…blending traditional (Ruth) with a twist of funky (Ollie).

We've Moved!
It has been two years since we created Ruth & Ollie. The support of our customers has been intoxicating. So, we started thinking about how to improve Ruth & Ollie and have leased a bigger building in Carytown.

Here are some of the great changes:

• We've leased part of the former "Martha's Mixture" building located at 3445 West Cary in Carytown.
• We now have nearly 2,800 square feet of retail space with over 4 times the space and 4 times the selection!
• We have increased our offerings with upholstered headboards, dining tables & chairs, desks and an even more sumptuous and fuller selection of sofas, chairs and tables, mirrors and lighting.
• We have built a great design area featuring all of our fabrics in an easy to access area and a HUGE work table where you can plan your dream room.
• We now have enough space to showcase items in groupings. Now you can stroll, dream and plan your home without bumping into things.

Although it is a bit of a challenge to try to convey the feel of Ruth & Ollie through the web, please look around our site and check out the new photos of our store. If you are in Carytown this summer, stop by our store at 3445 West Cary Street to experience Ruth & Ollie for yourself.
